Utilization of Long-Acting Reversible Contraceptive (LARC) and its determinants in multiparous women in a Tertiary Hospital

Background: The world population of 7.8 billion with multiparous women are encumbered unmet need for contraceptives. Long-acting reversible contraceptive (LARC) is one the interventional tool in curtailing myriads complications associated unwanted pregnancies and its sequalae. Objective: This study aimed to determine pattern long-acting use sociodemographic characteristics users family planning services a teaching hospital Lagos. Methodology: A retrospective comparative cross-sectional 1296 parous who had sought at Family Planning Clinic LASUTH between January 1, 2019 December 31, 2021 1,177 opted LARC during period under review were identified from clinic register. Their case notes retrieved data on clients’ socio-demographic characteristics, uptake Long acting contraceptives was extracted using standardized pro forma Data analysis done relevant descriptive inferential statistics level statistical significance set p <0.05. Results: total form contraception study, within an age range 18–52years mean 37.5± 7.1 years.
